I took my am deluxe tremelo system apart and put graphite grease on any contact and moving points. when i was putting it back together i noticed that 2 of the 6 springs that go behind the bridge sections are a bit shorter that the rest. they don't appear compressed more than the others. does anyone know where the shorter two go?

The shorter ones should go to the lower strings, the shorter the lower basically

I found the answer in some diagrams. the 2 shorter intonation springs are for strings 5 and 6 because they are usually the furthest back once the guitar is intonated.
