I happen to like mid 80's MIJ Strats. I'm not saying they are better than MIA Strats. Personally I have a preference for them.

With me Chet in has to be the MiJ Standard 22's and the 68 Reissue's I have played both of them and liked them both.

A "Troll"?

Explain please?

An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.[2]

Good definition. I was wondering. :?:

BTW, I have a 85 MiJ in my collection Chet and I love it! Can't wait to see your pictures my friend! :)

That's quite a claim.

It really comes down to personal opinion really, and budget.

Obviously if you have the disposable income, you might as well buy the MIA.

I went to a guitar store to try out a MIM & MIA, and I really couldn't notice much of a difference in the pickups.

The neck on the MIA was a lot smoother than the MIM though, but that's something that will improve with use :)

Blertles....Im not sure Im "taking the piss" about anything. Can you "take the piss" on a thread you started?

You know its funny that two people, you and one other guy, have made statements for the entire Fender Forum population as if you speak for them. There are more people that actually saw through my little ruse. They arent offended. Some guys thought it was funny, as I did.

What's really interesting is that the thread topic was designed to be pointless. It was, by design, an invitation to offer opinions about something that couldnt be proven. There was no subject matter anywhere that had anything to do with facts. There was no way to help anyone or glean anything important by participating in this thread. Get it? That was the point. There was no way for you or any other person to help someone or learn anything from a bunch of guys expressing their opinions about whether they like an MIJ or MIK better.

Yet so many people, including you, entered and participated. You all offered opinions about an unprovable topic and then got mad when you realized the conversation was circular and not going anywhere.

Whats really amazing is that people are still chiming in, even after I came clean and "took the piss". How pathetic and interesting is it when so many people just jump right in and spew their opinion without even reading the thread????

I recognize that Im not like other people, but I just think this is hilarious. Im going to write a paper about it.

OK. Done.

Very Clever Jay.. this is the thing- as soon as you started this thread, I think a lot of people didnt take you seriously- hence why I stepped back and watched to see if you were serious about the topic.. and you proved you werent when you apologised- yet you carried on. Its amusing and interesting as you say, but anyone who is a Fender fanatic will tell you that there is no right or wrong when it comes to topics like these, and unless stopped will no-doubt be an ever ending debate on a thread. It's like, "are zebras white with black stripes, or black with white stripes?" type of discussion. Im all for discussions like these but Im not going expose myself to argue with people I enjoy talking to and respect, for your own personal humor & gratification. Whatever floats your boat my friend.

And yes, I do like mim necks- I cant wait to get my hands on a mim fat strat one day- Id love a F/rose in candy apple but I dont think they do'em.. so ill stick to my candy tang. strat instead for the meantime :D

I have both MIM and American. The MIMs are great, but the American is clearly the better guitar.

Foreign made guitars are great but I still can't find one that plays like my MIA strat.
