I think you're trying to start an argument. And it's not a new argument. People who either cannot afford American made guitars, or who can but simply don't want to pay the prices, have got to convince themselves and others that the off shore guitars are not only equivalent to but even better than guitars from Corona. But they're not.

Buy what you want. I do.

And your later post tells me everything I need to know about you.

JPD they dont fetch anywhere near that used over here. The wannabe yuppies of yesteryear are ditching em like hot rocks because of the increased taxation for large engined 4x4's.

I suppose you are going to tell me that you Brits don't use the word "gear" anymore?

This topic is clearly a JOKE topic. Let's have some more jokes, then! Right!

Gear: several possible meanings in English-English...

Naughty: similarly...

BigJay: no, no: the way this works, the player dreams up the specs, the maker then builds it. Or suggests that a nice Tyler or Hamer might do you better...

(Hamer [now within the Fender "family"]: "we don't have a custom shop. We are a custom shop.")

A stick.

(Why - what did y'all think?)

Ceri...let make this ax design exercise a little bit more dynamic....why dontr I tell you what I music I play and you tell me what guitar/amp combo I should use? Here goes....

If the original guitar player/song writer cut his teeth on blues....studied every famous bluesman across history....and then had major alcohol and drug problem while writing songs.....I play everything they ever wrote.

Hmm. I'll tender my bid: you need a Strat type guitar (obviously), volume and a master tone knob but with the addition of a BB King varitone circuit, PRS 513 type pickup arrangement with the middle pickup wound wide like a P90 for additional flavors. An extensively chambered swamp ash body. We need a flame maple top on that, but with a gentle stain like Hamer do, rather than the baroque furniture look of PRS, and a dark burgundy burst finish. A three piece maple and mahogany neck with a milky pale holly fingerboard, and a three degree angle back on the headstock to obviate string trees. Jumbo frets with ebony block inlays. Schaller tuners with ebony knobs. And a vintage style bridge.

Someone else can build the amp with you...

And this is why you need to choose your own specs!

I know exactly what I've done. Its a social psychology experiment. God I love causing trouble. This is just tooo funny.

Funny...on another thread that was getting off track, I literally wrote that I wanted to change the subject just to throw the thread off. It had devolved into chaos anyway. But I said exactly what I wanted to do and I said I wanted to do that just to see who missed it and how the thread changed after it was manipulated.

I dont think anybody picked up on it, despite my advertised plans. It was truly amazing to see so many people chime in on something that has nothing to do with the original thread, or even the second and third derivative themes of the twisted conversations. People are really amazing creatures.

Now, after I came clean on my joke and even apologized to anyone who was offended, people are still chiming in as if the thread is legitimate.

This is hilarious.....

Hello..........is there anybody in there??????

Humans are hell....
