The berlin's were his premier model if i remember right. He only makes acoustic's now. I went to his coventry factory a few times when he made electrics. The prices he sold surplus parts off at is a eye opener to top end guitar profit margin's.

Its been a while I think the Berlin that I looked at was a 95' with a maple cap. More then I wanted to spend at the time though.

The 95's were produced by the musical exchanges group in Birmingham. A very good guitar with messers diggins and birch overseeing the construction. Musical exchanges was the place i bought a lot of 1st's. 1st, strat, marshall stack, rack unit (a art sgx2000).
Sadly mr Eggle had moved on by then, it was the begining of their decline.

All the wood in England was used by the 18th century for shipbuilding.

Sorry man, but strats aren't cars, foreign made are infrior to americxans. The materials are much cheaper (most korean squires have pressed cardboard bodies) the elexctronics arter cheaper. And if you were to take the finish off, and open them you'll find that quality wise there is no comparison. American are more $$ for a reason.

I think foreign made Strats and Teles are alright. I've had both and have a MIM Tele now. I'm happy with it. Its got a good sound, plays easy and it was easy on the ole wallet. What more can you ask for? I bought it used and paid around $300 for it. I did give it a good set up though, but other than that its as stock as they come.

Even MIM Strats and Teles are made in the USA. They just ship them to Mexico to get them assembled. I got this straight from a dealers mouth. He also told me if he was going to buy a Tele he would buy a MIM Tele, drop in some Seymour Duncans, give it a good set up and rock the house.

no pissing match here. everyone has there own
thing. i personaly find the MIK lite ash strat wood quality
to be outstanding. before i bought this strat i did alot of
research on this guitar read many reveiws from differnt
sites. played the thing for houres before i bought it.
and when i took it home i tore it down and found the
craftmanship to be fantastic. it has the duncan alnico pro II
pick ups/a fantastic ash body and a two point trem also a
birds eye maple v neck that is very smooth and fast.
its loaded with quality.

and i only paid $640 for it brand new.
no it does not come with a case but that
doesnt matter to me. its worth more than what i paid
for it thats for shure.
