The way I see it unless all the other guitar companies raise their prices at the same rate, Fender is going to have alot more competition.

Not true.
Over the past year, the US Dollar has risen against the major foreign currencies (accept the yen). I deal with Euro all of the time. Last March, it took @ $ 1.62 to buy one Euro, as of this AM it takes $ 1.29; that is a 25% improvement on the dollar.

You are right there I took a big hit on the Euro this years so who ever says different is not in the stock market.

And for a MIM Std. Strat that was 399.going for 550.thats nuts. And people say Gibson over priced just look at what you get for it. And I no theres going to be the I hate Gibby's coming out of the wood work on that being said. That used 335 I bought My Son recently is one da$ fine guitar. You no 450. sounds about right to me for a MIM Std. thats a great guitar for that price but 550. I'd just add 50 and get a PRS or 100 and get a Reverend with a nice hard case.

I totally agree. Those Reverend guitars look awesome. I love the Jetstream HB-FM. I love Fender but if I had to choose between a Standard Strat or Reverend and value for my money taken into consideration I think I would have to go with Reverend.

Does Fender buy much material in Europe? I would think a more relevant currency to consider is the Mexican Peso.
