I'm thinking of buying a Fender Am dlx strat but i have some problems. I have played both the ash, the "V" neck and the "standard" but i dont know what to choose. I mean I love the lookof the "V" neck with candy apple red finish and it sounds the same as the other one's maybe a little diffrent to the ash but i'm not shure about the neck. I havent played it to much but when i played it the last time i did'nt notice it was i "V" neck before i read the tag that as hanging down the neck. I just love the look of the candy apple one and I really want it but i'm affraid that I wont like the neck. Can you change the neck alter if a just hate it to much? And the bad thing about the "V" neck is that it olny comes in maple and i have only played rosewood and love the sound of it. What should I do? Should I by the "V" neck or the "C" neck or schould I by a Eric Johnson or a John Mayer whitch seems to be reaaly great guitars and I love the sound of John mayers guitar and SRV guitar. Please help me!!! PS. If my english is a little bit bad then it's becuse I'm from Sweden.

Hi!

I'm not too experienced with the v-neck, but if i were to buy a new guitar, i would let playability come first! i mean, thats the most important right? If you order a guitar this expensive and find out that the neck is wrong, you will probably regret it later on! Of course looks are important! but i am sure there is many other fine guitars out there!;)

Thank's guys for the answers! I willl just keep trying out the diffrent guitars and decide. I have another question. Do you think you can get that SRV sound with the American DLX even with the maple? I like that softer sound not as twangy. Or is the roosewood the way to go then?

i have a maple neck, and Couldnt Stand the weather sounds awsome! But if you want a real srv sound, you should stick then with the rosewood
