Ok, so I am excited. I picked up an amazing mim candy apple(?) strat today. 04 model and super cheap.

Now I just have to learn how to play it since it is my first strat.
All I have ever owned for 15 years has been humbuckers.
It may take me a while to learn how to not make it sound like poop. lol.

I am working on SRV classic "pride and joy". Any other suggestions for learning "strat songs".

Thanks guys

Here's a couple of classics:
Sultains of swing
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_SEULZIHru0
Sweet home Alabama

Ok, I know Alabama has a Les Paul in there also but it wouldn't be the same with out the strat.

What about Layla by Clapton, he must be one of the most famous Strat players ever.

Of course! Layla. How did I forget that!
Any idea what pick-up selection EC uses for that?

I think that depends on your skill level. You`ll figure out what songs to play, just enjoy your new Strat.

Buy albums....god Im old....CDs.....ooops, sorry....downloads.....

Go buy Claptons "Slow Hand"...or

Or buy yourself Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble "Live Alive".

Or....The Rolling Stones "Exile on MainStreet" or "Get your Yah Yah's out"

Or....Jimi Hendrix....any album.....

Dont come back until you know every song on these albums.

We'll see you in 10 years I guess...
