In addition to my Fender tube amp I have a Roland 15w cube. Its probably ideal for a dorm room. Very versitile and it has a headphoine jack which may be critical. It also can be used with pedals. I play mostly bliues and blues based rock, and while I certainly prefer the tube amp, the Roland is good for what it is.

As to what it takes to get laid in college these days, well, its been so long since I was in college I doubt could say anything usefull.

well, I never asked how i could get laid at college! people suddenly started playing guitar=getting laid concept
Now, the Fender Tube amp you've got, what kind is it? does it have a headphone jack? does any fender amp have headphone jack?

NO!!! I dont recommend the heavy metal SOLO.

I said "FACE MELTING POWER CHORDS"!!!!!

With this technique, you simply blow the panties right off!!!

Actually, I recommend a wheepy, soft, emotional, depressing folk song on an accoustic....couple candles.....a little booze....and a tear falling on the guitar as you rest your chin on the guitar body....

You have to appeal to their maternal instincts....

Listen to this man. He obviously knows his stuff!

Ok I know the Roland 30x has a headphone and CD jack. I played on one in the store and I was blown away by it. Impeckable sound without the use of pedels. In fact I am going to get one for myself soon, I am down sizing and for the price, very good.

I have not looked into the Vox pocket amps, not sure that you can hook pedals to them or not. I have heard good things about them, but have not personnaly played on one.

I read up the specks on the Fender Superchamp and did not read that there was a headphone jack and may stillbe a noise issue in the dorm. And I did not see a good "tube" amp by Fender that is under $300 that would have a headphone jack. Sorry.

I say go to your local music shop and see what they have. Bring your guitar and see what would suit your needs in the dorm.

Oh. What about a Orange Tiny Terror since the dual terror is coming out this year these are going to be a lot cheaper.
Then buy a little cabinet for it and your set. 8)

I've got a Fender Frontman amp, (which I'm replacing with a Twin Reverb, but that's another story) it's a little 15 watt amp, *with headphone jack*. The sound is really nice, definitely not a tube amp sound, but what can you expect. The nice thing is that it's got enough power to be quite loud if and when you need it to be, but it sounds nice with headphones too.

As for getting laid...haha jk, it's weird though how that topic now seems more popular than the main one...

its a real pi$$sr that you cant get a small tube amp with a headphone jack. its for this reason i stil use a rubbish 10w marshall solid state. it doesnt sound great, but at least it has a headphone jack. If the blues junior had a headphone jack id have one in a heartbeat.
