Hi all, I finally got my first Fender (yikes... should I say that here?!?!? lol). Its a 1985 Contemporary with the HSS configuration, coil tap, volume and TBX controls, System III trem made by Schaller, and the side-mounted jack. The guitar had a few, well, issues. It kinda needed a little wiring done since the previous owner tore out all the electronics about 15 years ago and never put it back together. He sent the original pickups and the 5-position switch, but the pots needed to be replaced, and the input jack looks like it is missing one of the leads.
Anyway, I am thinking that I need to locate a jack for this thing. It looks like it screws into the wood??? Does anyone know where I can find a parts number or a replacement for this jack? My searches have come up empty.
Thanks for any help!!! When I get it put back together I will post a clip of how it sounds!!
-Mike

Hi UFOMike: welcome to the Forum. Just to be quite sure, when you say "side-mounted" do you mean on the edge of the body, like a Tele or Les Paul? Or do you just mean the regular angled Strat output jack?

You were totally right. I was searching too hard... my searches were too specific, and I didn't know exactly what it was I was looking for. I kept finding parts that didn't apply, so I thought I would never find them.

My dad was right... "If you keep listening to that crap so loud, it's gonna turn your brain to mush!!" lol

Thanks for the help, BigJay!!!

Thanks for the welcome! Yes, this one is mounted on the edge like a Les Paul. It is gonna take a Threaded Barrel jack. See how much I have learned in the past 30 minutes since I've joined the forums?? That's awesome!!! :-)

Les Paul and Tele style jack sockets available on this page:

Incidentally, that modern electrosocket Tele output (if it's the one you want) has a kind of brushed chrome finish. If you don't like that then a shiny one just the same is available on Ebay from a seller called Bezdez. I have bought many times from that seller (in Canada) and she gives an excellent service...
