Hey Guys,

About 3 years ago I bought strat from a shop in Sydney and I can't seem to find the model online anywhere.

It is an American Standard HSS - But this one has the S1 switching system. All the standard HSS models I can find don't have the S1. Is a Sunburst colour.

Any ideas?

Cheers
M

The Fender website describes a guitar such as yours, including the S-1 switch. It's right there at the website.

Hi AusMongrel: I do have an idea, yes - because I suspect I have the exact same Strat. HSS, maple neck, Sienna Sunburst finish (dark red round the edge instead of black), and the S1 switch.

Mine was the 2005 American Series HSS Strat. A year or so ago they renamed the American Series to become the American Standard (just to create confusion with the (Mexican) Standard and Squier Standard).

Your guitar is one and the same with this one (depending on the fingerboard):

Though it says they have now removed the S1 switch from it...

No! Mine is the same colour as the one in this link only it is HSS and with the S1.

It is just like a standard only the S1 Switch and I can't find any product on the Fender site that is the same.

Maybe they stopped adding the S1 Switch.

OK, well then it's this one, on the same page as the one I linked to before:

As I said, in 2005 it was called the American Series: now it has been renamed the American Standard. And according to the blurb on that page they have recently dropped the S1 switch from it. However, in all but name it is the same guitar.
