I doubt it. Once you go down the pickup road its a never ending journey. Ask Les Paul. He's spent 60 odd years researching tone making adjustments He's far too busy jammin classy tunes.

For once I have to agree with nikininja...the quest for that perfect tone always seems to be an endless journey. Either way, as others have said the VN's are good and are certainly going to be an improvement over the MIM's stock pups, but personally I prefer the Duncan Hot Rails myself and for that matter, I also really love the Gold Lace Sensors and EMGs.

The thing about pickups is that no two people hear things exactly the same way. What may sound great to one person may sound like total doggie doo-doo to another. There's some folks out there for example that actually (shivers) like the sound of a BC Rich. Some folks like LPs, some like PRS's and others still prefer a Gretch or a Rickenbacker (a Ricky 360...drool, drool!). Only -you- can decide what sounds right to your ears and while you might get lucky and find the pups of your dreams on your first outting, chances are you're going to spend many years (and lots of money) an that wonderful tone quest that so many of us are on.

Good luck on your own quest,
Jim
