I am looking at buying a new strat, looking for some feedback on which model. I am aiming >$1500, mess mostly with Blues and Classic rock. Played the American Standard, nice neck and pickups, tried MIM's but want something a little more.
I appreciate any input, thanks,
JW

Welcome my friend,

I own a 2008 MIA Standard Strat and I'm totally in love with her. She looks and plays perfectly. As many of us here will tell you , what you're gonna buy depends totally on you. If you are able go out and play everything you can. I think this is the best way to find out which. 1500 $ in America is enough money for a very good instrument. By being here i think you are on the good way. i suggest you should try the American Standard and deluxe and i also like alot the Vintage hot rod 50's.
Greetings from Greece...

I personally love the SRV strat. it has a big fat neck, and i love the texas specials the really scream. I also play mostly blues and classic "type" rock. Give her a try tell me what you think.

I appreciate all of the input. I am going to play an American Deluxe Ash model at the local store and see what that says to me. Visually, very nice piece. Always wanted a Strat, part history, part sound. I am in no danger of having to make a living through my playing. I am a big believer in "pride of ownership".
