I like lemon oil. It is cheap and works well. Just use a couple of drops, let it soak in then wipe away excess.

I believe that's the general idea, certainly wouldn't hurt any. :) I use Dr. Stringfellow mainly because that's whatr the local music store had in stock.

I have used Lemon oil with great results. It make rosewood come to life man, shiney and dark.

Word of caution though, do not use too much. Use it extremely conservatively. The oil can break down the glue that holds in frets and laminates the rosewood FB to the neck. As you can imagine, over time it could destroy your guitar if not used properly. So I say put it on very light and immeditately wipe the excess, and it will be fine.

If you play a rosewood fingerboard often enough, the natural oils from your hand should keep it looking decent, so you only have to wipe it off periodically.

Certain cleaners also remove oils from the wood making it look dry and dull.

So if mine is real dirty, I may use a cleaner, and then the oil for the best results. Lemon oil will not last long by itself under regular play

Hello Castostrater,

I use "pledge" on my rosewood board
but I read on this forum earlier this year
some were toutoing the benifits of
pure distilled rosewood oil. It's quite
expensive but can be obtained here.

http:// www.aromatherapywebsite.com/Rosewood_Es ... -1930.html

I haven't tried it yet but one of these days
I'll spring for a few ml's.

Cheers.
