I've never been to Canada- or Great Britain... They both sound great! and cold!

I want to see London next summer... Hey Nick, Could you direct me to a Bar where a large southern boy from the U.S.A such as myself could get intoxicated to the point of bullet proof...without being beaten, rolled and generally verbally abused?
Probably be him rolling you, better ask ceri.

I've 3 daughters i know what you mean about beating the boyfriends up. They do make you insanely protective. My eldest is 11, all i do is worry
.

You don't have to worry about your daughters, if your wife is a strong woman - they grow up to BE their mothers, trust me! My 1st wife was strong and mean... NOT something you want in a wife much, but, makes for a well protected Daughter!

... just buy another Guitar to ease your pain!!
I am currently looking for the 4th- ex-MRS. Allanf64...so...what do I know?

Now that's funny.

I would be HONORED to give up my empty wallet with the maxed out credit cards to a fellow Forum member! But, where's the verbal abuse then?

You want a bar where you're not going to get rolled by Nikininja? Difficult: better stay inside The Ritz. They have a dress code that excludes metal guitarists.

But if you are buying I'm sure we can all dig up suits and neckties from somewhere... :D

BTW, cold in Canada - and Britain, someone said? I'll have you know it is sunny and a very balmy 7C / 44F here in London this January afternoon. So happens I just collected my old dad off a plane from Canada this morning. Now that was cold, by the sound of it...

Cheers - C

Guys your very lucky im used to sarcasm or i would be unleashing a mighty torrent of verbal abuse via the medium of text right now. :P

I do know a great punk club in tufnel green where you'd be quite safe whilst under the influence of liquid brain damage, I was. Ceri is the man to ask about the capital though. i try to steer clear of the place, the traffic is horrendous.

Now if you want to visit the home of heavy metal, i'll gladly join ya mate. You'll be perfectly safe too.

LMAO, I am from Hamilton and I dont know who your mayor is
Billy Talent kick butt though!

Anyway, my name is Angelo and I am from The Hammer. I am single with no kids and mop floors for a living and play guitar.
Been playing since I was 15 (39 now) and never stopped. My first real geetar was a Squire bullet that looked like a Strat but had a Tele neck and while I have some other brands Strats are my one and true love.
While I golf just to get out of the house, playing guitar is what I enjoy doing most. I just love playing.

Hate to burst your bubble, but ...

Hi I'm Brent./I live in western Canada, and I have no idea who your mayor is :P

Been playing since the mid 80's, didn't get a strat til 94, barely even touch the other guitars since then. At one point i was in a band with 3 names, one for when we did rock gigs, one for when we played metal, and one for punk. We played a couple country shows too, but just used our rock name.

I went away from playing for awhile, regret it heavily, and currently trying to rebuild my chops to the point I am not ashamed to play in front of people anymore.

Hazel McCallion!!! there is a wiki on her!!lol you guys are making me look like a knucklehead....

read the first couple paragraphs.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hazel_McCallion sheesh...

Hey Fellow Stratheads-

This is a really cool thread- Nice to read all the "Behind The Music" facts on some of our forum friends.

My name is Phil and I reside in Sacramento, CA. I started playing guitar when I was 16 or so but never got serious about it until about 12 yrs ago (I'm 41 now)- I am married with 4 kids- 3 boys and one Princess. My 12 yr old Son just started Playing ..so I bought him a Starcaster

My best friend from high school and I decided to start a band about 5 yrs ago- Now we gig quite a bit...playing our classic Rock and Blues on the Bowling Alley Circuit around the Sac area.

I own a 2000 MiM Strat that I have just begun to Mod. I also have an 84 Ibenez Roadstar II for some Humbucker Crunch. My amp out on the road and studio is a 2000 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. At hope I play out of an early 70/ Late 60's Fender Vibro Champ.

That's about it-

The Freeze

Hello! My name is Stephen ( or at least thats the name in my underwear :? ) And I currently reside in Mississippi (Yes, we have air-conditioning and No, I am not married to my cousin) Being a government brat we moved around a good bit. As a result I can boast that I have lived in 13 of our glorious 50 states.

I am at present the owner of a modest sized landscape company and am blessed in that I completely love what I do. I am 34 years young (going on 16) and am married with a 14 year old daughter. To those before me who have spoken of the woes of their daughters dating....I totally feel your pain!

I got into music when I was 6 via the violin, which I played until I was 13. Upon concluding that the violin was decidedly uncool I switched to drums which I still play today. Just for the record... Neil Peart is my personal hero! I decided two years ago to expand my area of musical knowledge to include the guitar. Being that in landscaping I have 3 months of down time I needed something to pass the days. This also explains how i'm able to spend so much time here in the forums.

I enjoy playing and learning classic rock and am begining to ease myself into blues. My current guitar hero is Jerry Garcia (yes, I am most certainly a dead head and closet hippie) Not too flashy, but TONS of soul. My favorite jam is "Grateful Dawg." If your not familiar with it see the link at the bottom of this post.

I hope you have enjoyed this brief peek into my life thus far. Thanks for taking the time to read it.

~Stephen

I too am from Canada! Im from Portugal Cove, Newfoundland. Im now 16 and i was introduced to guitar 3 years ago. Our music class had about 30 acoustic guitars, electric guitar, bass and drums. I started to play and then once i finally got the hang of it it took it full force. A year later i joined both guitar onsombles at my school and played every song at every show.

I now play guitar religiously and do not have a band yet. I just play in my room where my gear is set up. My first guitar was a knock off strat (i had wanted a epiphone sg because i loved ACDC at the time). I got if for christmas and was really surprised. I tuned it up and played that this forever. Now im glad i got a strat and i will soon own a real fender(american standard HSS). Im working on a van halen strat (i just need it wired and some locking tuners). i also have a morley classic wah, ibanez tubescreamer and a fender fm212r. soon a boss me-20!!!
