As the title said; What do you think about the Squier Stratocaster?

I got one myself, and actually I think it's almost as good as the Fender.

I own one - very nicely done instrument - sounds decent, the only change I made to mine was to replace the strings and tighten a few screws - but the bridge and tuners were all tight - no issues. The frets are not sharp, and like I said it looks and sounds much better than a $200 guitar.

My Squier Standard Strat - Cherryburst Special Edition with my EyelandEnterprises Sedona Strap

A Cherryburst finish is really difficult to capture - every shot makes it look a little different :P

I own 50's vibe it was $300 new but an awesome git. Compared it with MIMs in stock that were 120-150 more and none came even close as far as feel and tone.

My Affinity Strat was my first guitar. Best thing ever for $100, that's for sure. I've been modifying it basically since I got it and now it's a very nice guitar.

My first electric guitar was a Affinity Stratocaster, and I still use it almost every day.

On their own they are very good guitars, a great value, and a fine instrument. I don't like comparing one line of guitars with another such as Squire vs. MIM or MIM vs. American. I just know that Squires can't be beat for the money.

The Classic Vibe and Vintage Modified Squiers are impressive for the money. They come in at around $300, give or take, though. So they are not exactly just giving them away. But they play exceptionally good considering how cheap they are. You could pay that same money and do MUCH worse buying other brands.

Depends on the model. Some are good and some a not so good. I like the Classic Vibe and the Deluxe series. Good guitars for the price. I played on Squire for years until an unfortunate accident happened to it.

Hit and miss, but I'll put my 96 Blondie up against anything.

I got my daughter this FENDER SQUIRE LIMITED EDITION VINTAGE MODIFIED CHERRY SUNBURST STRATOCASTER for CHRISTMAS. It is an awesome guitar. I like it so much that I am going to buy a FENDER SQUIRE TELECASTER LIMITED EDITION BUTTERSCOTCH BLONDE next week.[img][/img]

Well, I have one. I took it apart, sanded it down and completely refinished it and re-cut the headstock. Then I replaced all of the hardware and put Lace Sensor pickups in it. It now holds it own with most non-vintage Fender Strats I have played. I love it as it was my first guitar but I play a couple Fenders and Gibson LPs are my main guitars so the Squier wasn't up to snuff with the Fenders or Gibsons as it was stock so that is why I redid it.

The only difference is it is now in a slightly darker shade of metallic blue than in the picture below and I redid the headstock to be solid without the silver leaf paint. Before it was your standard black Squier Strat with an Alder body, this is what it looks like now...

In the place I live these are the guitars you can find more in all the music stores !!! I think that for this money and even the double, it's the best instrument you can buy. And plus they can accept most Fender original parts so they are just GREAT. Two of my nephews start now their journey with a Squier and they just couldn't be happier. And their guitars look like their uncle's Strat !!!

True, but compare Squiers to Epiphone, not Gibson. Even Gibson's "Entry level" Les Paul Junior will hold up to an American made Strat and cost almost as much.
