hey welcome to the forum

if price is not an issue.... go with the deluxe. more tonal variety and a gorgeous finish. but the obvious answer is go play the two of them out of the same amp on the same day and decide based on your preference.

good luck...

if you want tone versatility and tons of sustain
and you dont want to change your guitar everytime
you play differnt styles of music then i suggest you
go with the highway one strat.

if you are into the strat's characteristical sound, i think for the money, the standard is for you.... if you want a little more output but sacrifice "that" sound, a HWY1 is in your future. with owning a standard and a deluxe (and like i said, with money being no issue at all) go with the deluxe. but those colours in the CPStrats are awesome too... it's a really hard decision. just go with a friend and have him blindfold you... throw all bias out the window and pick it that way... (just hope he doesn't put a pink guitar in your hands, you'll get a few chuckles here and there)

Hey there I own the Classic Players 60s strat in sonic blue and I would probably go for the Am Deluxe. I love my guitar, but there's just something about the feel of those higher models and appeals to me. Another thing to be noted is If you decide that you want to change out the pickups to these http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/ ... sku=301637 the ones that are in it it's only $189, and it should sound identical.
Happy Hunting!

I would say use the neck as the springboard for making your decision. You can change most anything to suit your tastes, but the neck is the most important part of the guitar. How the neck feels to me changes how i approach playing it.I have 3 strats and i play each one differently .One has a 12 inch radius with tall frets ,while the other 2 have a 9.5 radius with standard frets. There are so many different necks put there and i would go with the one that feels best in your hands, period. That will determine your sound more than anything.

I would go with the Am. Deluxe and I would pull the trigger before they go up big time if you no you are going to be buying soon.

I got the deluxe yesterday before the increase and i would say definately go with the deluxe. Although the american standard in sienna sunburst that was left on the wall was calling me as i left the shop. The standard was really awesome but i got a deal i couldnt refuse on the American deluxe. 8) Plus the SCNs and S1 switch on the deluxe really push it overboard! No matter wich you buy, you will love it cause they are great guitars.
