While looking up 60th Ann. strats on ebay, I noticed that many had a special neck joint plate that was engraved with the diamond and stated 60th ann. My strats plate is just blank. It does have the little metal 60th logo on the back of the head stock. Is there any reason why mine would not have this special plate? My strat is a MIM and I believe all that I was looking at were MIM's also. Maybe the guy I bought it from put the headstock logo on himself???

Something seems odd here :? . I bought my 60th Ann MIM in Spring 06 (brand new), and it does have the diamond engraving on the neck plate. I believe all 60th Ann MIMs had this engraving. I'd be wary of this one - recommend you press for more information prior to purchase. Maybe the neck on this guitar was replaced. Is it bright maple or tinted maple? 60th Ann MIMs have tinted maple (21 fret) necks. Seems easy enough to put the headstock logo on yourself, much like you suggested. You may consider contacting a Fender rep directly for more information. I've had good luck with them in the past. As an aside, Fender also produced a 60th Ann MIA series - also ran a line of Teles, if I'm not mistaken. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I would say yours is not a 60th Ann. guitar but was just made that year. Not all guitar made where conciderd 60th Ann. Editions. I bought My Son a fat strat new out of the box that has the 60th Diamond on the head stock but it is not a 60th edition. At the guitar shop both guitars that we opened and looked at had the diamond and I have seen others as well. So I would say there is nothing to be suspicious about unless you were told that it was a 60th. Ann. edition guitar.

Thanks for those replies. Mine is also a fat strat. If all '06 models came with the headstock 60th logo on the back, then It's probably not a 60th ann strat. I don't blame the guy who I got it from. I truely feel that he was under the impression that it was.

I went to the guitar dater project website and put in my serial number and came up with this..

Guitar Info
Your guitar was made at the
Ensenada Plant (Fender), Mexico
in the Year(s): 2005 - 2006

Thanks Guys!!!!!
