Good video orv! I did not see where they said the pickups where Custom shop design. I did see where they said the Greasebucket was but thats the tone control and that was not designed for the HWY1 though, but it did get.
The Greasebucket was the tone circut design for a few of the basses and the Stratocaster Pro. Greasebucket circuts have been used in the past on tone controls for some guitars and simular circuts on amps. The idea for the reverse polarity has been used before and still is in the Texas Specials but they are the more powerful Alnico 5 magnets. The custom shop does make pickups using the Alnico 3 Magnets but they are Tele pups (vintage, 62' , No caster) I would guess these pickups are MIM and there is nothing wrong with that. They do have a nice thrashing sound just not classic but they are made for that so that cool.
