Strings are a matter of player's preference. I like the Super Bullets on my Fender; however I play D'Addario's through my ESP. Same gauge for both and I cannot tell much of a difference in playability. Tone wise, the strings on my Fender sounds the best, but that might be the guitar itself. I know right now I am getting a good deal on the Super Bullets $3.50 a set. But when the price goes up, we'll see.

Buy a few sets from different manufacturers and see which ones you like.

Men and women, its not the brand. I like nickle wound strings, and they all sound so simiar, I can't tell. I always broke the high E with D'Addarios, so I quit using them, but that was years ago. I am pretty sure that most strings, like tubes, are only made in a few factories. So its likely the same strings just get rebranded.

I look for what is on sale, but if all things are equal, I go for Ernie Ball slinky on the strat, and super slinkies on the others. No reason, but I have had good luck with them.

However, In the bargain bin at a store one day, I found some cheap Mullettheads or something like that, with a cartoon pic of a dude with a mullett and and a big gap in his teeth, and bought those and they were also good. Life is too short to worry about the brand of a string. You need to know the guage and type of string, and the brand should not matter.

I've tried about 4 different brands after the original stock bullets went south. When I put the Fender Bullets back on, it's like the guitar came alive with tone. Bullets are all I use on my Strat!!

I've been playing EBs (9's) for over 40 years... The Fender strings have higher tension than other strings of the same gauges..

I've never heard anyone recommend Fender strings... lots of people recommend many other brands though (including D'Addario, Ernie Ball, etc.)..

I've been using Fender strings for 40 years. The regular ball end nickel strings. They're called 150TR these days. They work for me.

ernie balls break.

d'addario are the best, they actually make their own strings. So does GHS. everyone else buys the lower quality from them.

I use GHS Boomers - 10s. I feel that I get a bright, projecting sound from them. And they seem to last...

Don't ask why, but my Fat Strat really likes GHS Nickel Rockers and absolutely comes alive with GHS Burnished Nickels!

I do have plans, though to try a set of Thomastik-Infeld "Sliders" on them. I gotta see (hear?) what happens...

I have been using the T-I Plectrums on my Martin, and found more tone and soul with them than anything else. I just gotta find out how well they work on the Fender. Wait for the post.

I also use ernie balls, but latley i have been using d,addarios. Every once and a whyle i will throw some flat wounds on her as well. I go through alot of strings i change them once a week, i wont play the same strings for more than two weeks but thats just me. Like many of the people have said its not the brand of the string its the matereal its made out of. Most important to me is the size, i have a real hard time playing anything but 12's or 13's. Thats where i get most of "my" sound from.

if you are playing with tremolo
Fender Bullets strings are the most effective
and simple way to keep the Strat in tune
