Thank you . i can not see ever not playing gigs. if anyone is out there thinking they can't play in front of people, the butterflys only last a little while. just get out there and do it. check your local coffee houses for open mic nights.

Hi Tim: congrats!

There's a whole lot of things in life you try once and find you just want to do a lot more... (Nice, legal things, I'm talking about...)

Go for it!

Cheers - C

The first time was the worst for me, but the jitters never went away, they were always there for the first few minutes anyways.

Congrats!! You know facing your fears, like that and conquering them makes you a better person. I never got over the feeling of elation after either. You aren't as afraid after you get used to playing live, but you always have that feeling after.

Big congrats! It's a great feeling. Yeah, once you get the rush, it's VERY addictive. You want to just play shows, all the time, forever. It's a great thing. If you love it that much, play as often as possible. At bars, weddings, clubs, house parties, improv jams, with friends, with strangers, organize summer band fests, art festivals - do it all.

My guitar teacher in 5th grade had us play in front of like 2500 people at the end of our second course. It was amazing to be a young kid in that situation. I told myself THIS is what I want to do with my life. For the most part, I've done that.

Keep rockin!

I remember that on my first gig I was the only one in the band who was fairly calm and really to go for it. It was my second gig that I freaked out and messed up. I still have to take a few deep breathes and remind myself to just have fun sometimes.

I've played hundreds of shows. I still get that adreneline "rush" before I play. When I first started out, I thought it was fear, or nervousness or something. After a while, you learn to love that feeling. That's what gets you pumped, what makes it worthwhile. It never goes away for me, and I don't think I'd want it to. It just doesn't feel overwhelming anymore, but makes me feel good. Plus, you get so used to that feeling, you don't notice it sometimes.

Just remember to control your breath - that's what starts getting you nervous and makes that feeling control you, instead of the other way around.

Also, remember to relax and NOT play things too fast. In the blink of an eye, the set's over already. Relax and enjoy it.

Playing gigs is one of the best part of music! It might be really scary at the beginning or all the time for some people but it lasts pretty quick. It's most definitely worth it. :)

Right on!!!!! Playing live is something that just gets into your blood and there's nothing else like it. Call it a rush or call it what you want ... you never want to stop doing it.
