Post subject: Highway one?

I backed out on a deal for an older american strat. Are the highway one strat's MIA? It sounds like they have thinner finishes or something than other guitars? Are they like a cheaper version of the standard MIA guitars if they are MIA? I'm heading to the guitar store to try out a bunch of guitars but I want to learn as much as possible before I go.

"Yes" to all three of your questions.

They also have a satin finish (which can be hand-buffed to a gloss if that doesn't thrill you) and are a good bargain.
