Are the american deluxe's features worth 300 more than the American Standard's

The general consensus among deluxe owners is yes. Its not just down to hardware but attention to fit and finish as well. There widely believed to be the best quality production model being close in quality to customshop guitars.

I couldn't figure that one out either-----
so now I have both.

Yes I fell the niceties on the deluxe are
worth the extra money but the Am/Std
has a somewhat closer to vintage sound.
When the 08 Am/std was released last
year I liked it's upgrades and went for it.
This year I'm watching the funds closer.

Absolutely a cut above. Lovin mine. And I have a Am Standard too. The Standard is great , but my Deluxe is a big step up. Hope this helps. Mike
