I'm not sure, but I may end up replacing the tremolo on my Squier with a better one. Perhaps left handed. Do I need just need a new bridge, or do I need a new block too if I go lefty? Are there instructions for replacing tremolos (particularly instructions for converting a right handed tremolo to a left handed one) online somewhere? I guess I would have to rout into the body to make it work, which is one of the reasons I may just get a new right handed unit.

You need a whole new assembley and maybe a bit of routing to the body too. Which leaves the problem of filling in the other side. Also you may struggle to find a trem to fit the string spacing for your squire, regular fender trems are bigger. Wilkinson make a nice replacement with slotted screw holes rather than circular which allieviates fitting spaces problem.

Wow, thanks for posting. I didn't know the string spacing was different. I'll definately look into the Wilkinson too. I dunno, the lefty thing may end up being too much trouble.

My thoughts exactly regarding lefthand trems on right hand bodies
.
Although finding replacement Squire parts is much easier around your way than it is mine. I chose the wilkinson with its promise to 'fit all models' to avoid the whole spacing confusion. It turned out to be a good trem offering a smoothed attack and a good deal of sustain.

Its on this
