I have a MIM strat, circa 2000-2001 according to your serial #/dating page and in looking at the pickups with the pickguard removed, the pickups have two bar magnets on either side of the pole pieces. Can anyone tell me what kind of pickups these are? Are these alnico bar mags or ceramic? If Alnico, II, III, etc? Just curious. I have Fralin's in two guitar(alnico in Tele, P-90's in a TC90 Tele) and I think that these MIM pickups sound fairly good considering this is an inexpensive model guitar, but I'm always thinking about something different to try. I can't say enough good things about the Fralin's.

I think all the MiM guitars come with ceramic pu's. Except the Dx. Player's Strat which has American Vintage Noiseless. Not sure if those are alnicos or not though.

Actually my 60's reverse headstock MIM came with alnico pickups ... I replaced them though because they were a little noisy... but they do sound really good besides the noise part
