I recently went into a GC (yeah I know) to see if they had the new rosewood EJ, which they didn't, nor did they have any maple's either.I asked them if they knew when they were coming in, and they said that they would be getting the rosewood but not any maple ever! When I asked why, They said they believe the original maple is going to be a discontinued model. I never heard that. Has anyone heard this or know if this is true or not? Hoping this is bad info.If they are wrong that messed up! Please help me out on this one!

That would be very bad news if it were true. Although the new rosewood model is very attractive the maple one is already a true Fender classic, alongside the EC and one or two others.

At this moment the products pages of this site are still showing the maple model as current. I hope it stays around:

I hope its not true. that's what i am planning to buy in the next couple weeks.

I hope that GC had their info messed up or its really gonna be a sham if it was discontinued.....i hope to own one of the EJ's the maple one to be exact but on second thought all my strats are maple...
