Post the year & model along with the weight.

I have a modded '04 MIM Standard: 8 lbs 9 oz

I was surprised that it weighed so much. I am curious to see where others come in at.

You poor fellow. That's hard on the shoulders after 3.5 hours isn't it?

Seriously though, that's one heavy Strat, and there's heavier I'm sure. You want to pick light Strats. When you see vintage Strats for sale, the weights will be given, and lighter ones get more money. Custom Shop likes to keep them around 7.5 - 8 lbs max.

You do not want to know what my guitars weigh. But I'll be blunt with you, OK? Don't be offended, but I'd never drag that boat anchor of a Strat you've got around for too long. It would be thrown over board! SPLASHHH!

That's funny. I have never even thought of my Strat as heavy. Really? That is very interesting. Yeah, it's certainly heavier than my Gibson SG, but lighter than a Gibson Les Paul. You may think of it as an anchor, but ... actually ... maybe this is the reason on why it has such monstrous sustain and tone. It's funny that I always thought it was just silly thoughts that my Strat sounded and played better than so many others. But if my git is actually heavier than most everyone else's, then that only gives credence to my guitar really being different, after all. Hmmm ... it only makes this more this thread that much more compelling.

Ok I just weighed my partsocaste... it has a 2008 highway one neck , with Schaller locking tuers, alder MIM body, EMG pickups, schaller straplocks, and an American standard 2008 bridge tremolo... it weights 9 pounds :o I think thats due to the heavy american bridge block and also the HSH emg's tend to increase a little weight :) however its a joy to play...

'04 Fender MIM Strat - Slightly over 8 pounds, heavy but worth playing.
'?? Squier Affinity Strat - About 7 pounds.

It'd still be very interested to see what others have. But based on the existing responses, it seems that my 8.5 pound Strat is not out of the norm afterall. It's funny in that I have never strapped the Strat on and thought "wow, this thing is heavy". It has always been a comfortable and well balanced guitar to play. And I play almost exclusively standing up...

I have never weighed a stratocaster. When I play my daughters 07 mim For
a while, and then switch back to my 57 American vintage strat. The 57 feels
a lot lighter than the mim. That being said they a both very nice guitars even with the weight difference. :D

My American Standard Strat from 2006 weighs 4,1 kg (not sure what that is in pounds).
This makes it heavier than my Les Paul Studio.. And I'm pretty sure that the sustain's better on the Strat too! :D
