Please Fender I would like to know where the new 2009 Ritchie Blackmore Stratocaster is made. In USA or Mexcico?

Let me answer myself and tell me if I'm wrong:

The Ritchie Blackmore Stratocaster® is indeed MIM as stated in the product code : 013-9010-(305). The "013" prefix means MIM.

Thanks!

You are not wrong.

The "013" means made in Mexico (unless of course Fender has decided to abandon the numbering scheme they've used for years).

Unfortunatly we are probably right. MIM indeed. I'm a bit disapointed about that. I'll pass my turn on this one.

You could try to find one of the Custom Shop Blackmore's from the early 2000's ....

For 4000 bucks and up... No thanks! Better buy a cheap squier and have the neck scalloped and the pups changed. All that should cost way less than this RB reissue.

Anyway! Blakcmore will never die! Isn't it!

I'd aim a little higher. Start out with a Highway One with the large headstock (a Blackmore favorite) and scallop away!

Good idea but then, I pay more for the stock pups that would be removed anyway... And you know, I'd be less tempted to smash it on the first occasion! A Blackmore strat has, in the end, to be smashed one day or another! :P

You are right, of course.

And it would be very Blackmoreish to smash an Asian made copy!

Yeah but now that Ritchie can afford a couple of castles here and there, he could do a little effort and smash a "real" one the next time... before it's too late!
