For me it's the versatility of the instrument, and i like the C-shaped neck. Also the fact that the strat is the most copied guitar style, Why play an imitation when you can play the real thing.

Quote for truth!

for me it's "the neck pick-up"

Nothing sounds like a Strat the tones the feel the play ability. When I strap on my strat it hangs there perfectly ready to play unlike my LPs which I have to position it in a sometimes uncomfortable way to play on stage. For me the Strat is magical my hands grip the fret board and I just begin to shred. So easy to play just fits right.

The best thing about a Fender Stratocaster is recognizability.

The best thing about a Strat is... Being at an open blues jam, kicking on your boost pedal, throwing it into the neck position and tearing it up. Then watching the faces of Les Paul and PRS players.

I agree. The feel is my favorite thing. Nothing feels as good as a strat except maybe for my 72 tele deluxe with the contoured body. I just bought a gibson les paul double cutaway and while it sounds fantastic the feel sucks. It's not balanced well and the sharp edges are stupid. Most uncomfortable guitar I've ever played. If it didnt sound so good and I didnt get a killer deal on it I would return it to guitar center asap.

I would say the flexibility. the sweet tone you can get. The fact that it is so damn customizable. You can alter it to be unique, yet it still retains that Strat quality. Nothing you can't do with it.

There are many things that aren't good about Strats.
-I cannot ride my Strat to work.
-I cannot afford to own as many Strats as I want.
-I cannot play more than one Strat at a time.
-I cannot fit my Strat in my pocket.
-I cannot keep band mates from being jealous of my tone.
-I cannot stop wanting to play my Strat.
-I cannot....well, you get the picture.
