Well, I wanted a Strat since I was in high school in the late 60's. Finally got a Custom Shop model about two years ago and it changed my life. I started playing again--even writing a songs, the first a love song to my new instrument. Imagine how a second could inspire me.

That's great to hear. You probably wish you would have bought one years ago now, but you're right - it's never too late.

Glad you're enjoying that. A good guitar is your best friend for life.

Amazing what a guitar can do for you. Especially a Fender Stratocaster. Life is truly good. :D

Hey Fello Strathead

I totally understand what you are saying. My Strat changed my life. I didn't really get serious about my music until late in life (30yrs) but now (In My 40's) my best friend and I (He Plays a Tele) have a band and we gig several times a month.

Music keeps you young. You are never too old to Rock !!

Keep It Real

Can't say my Strat changed my life, but getting my first electric guitar, a Deluxe Player's Strat, at age 42 and now learning to play is one heck of a lot of fun!

I started playing the guitar in 1958 and played on and off up to now. All those years I wanted a Strat and last year at 59 years old I finally got a new MIA Strat and then I got a used MIM Strat. Now I have my eye on a SRV Strat and when the time is right I`ll get that also. I`m having a great time with these guitars, being retired by injury playing is helping me keep my sainity.

Started playing as a teenager in the 50's. Except for a little acoustic play, got away from the guitar for some 45 years. Bought a American Standard a couple of years ago. Am enjoying my retirement years (middle 60's). My rockabilly play and early rock songs entertain the grandkids.

Yeah strats are really a thing you can buy at any age and .... what I like about strats is that they are not sterotyped to a certain age.. they look goood being played by young or old people... :)

I remember when I bought my strat.. it was pretty much like magic. My old electric was terrible and never stayed in tune, and when I got my strat I never stopped practicing and got deeply into music and the study of the guitar. I'll never let it go, ever :P

I can certainly relate to the love for a Strat. I bought mine after waiting almost 30 years. The comparison of my Strat to using my old Kalamazoo was like look thru eyeglasses for the first time and realizing you had been blind. While I don't get to play as often as I'd like, there is nothing like it when I do. 8)

I too am in my 40's and own a Peavey Patriot (Strat copy) I bought used. It's agreat guitar (for me) but I alway wanted a Strat. Some day, i will get one. I learned a few chords in college but never really put the time into getting better. 1 resolution is to put 20 minutes a couple of times a week to learn scales or new techniques and hopefully find my new best axe.

I know how you feel. I've only been playing a year, I feel stupid on so many levels for saying this but...I really have felt no grand alternative to my own Strat. Nothing really feels or sounds quite like it, and yet it feels so flexible for everything I throw at it.

There really is nothing like a Strat. :)

I like how someone said strats are not specific to age, and I agree. I have a couple strat copies amoungst other guitars, and I absolutly love strats. I'm only 18 strats just have something about them that seem to inspire me too to be a better musician. I'm working towards getting my first Fender American Strat even. Probably the best guitar around, and the only one I wont make myself.

I have had different guitars through years but strat was and is special. Just taking it in my hands was enough to feel the difference. I am sticked to it's sound and feel.

I hope I will have a chance to bring home such a nice instrument strat is.
