I had them in a few American Standard Strats I owned. I had absolutely no use for them. I pulled them all out and replaced them with a regular tremolo spring.

I would say not worth it for a strat. I never have issues with my tremolo not going back to 'zero' I would only consider one of these if you have issues with it.

I had one in an old Ibanez with a Floyd Rose, but I even pulled it out of that, it will really change the feel of your strings. I didn't like it, I gave it time, but never got used to it.

That is just my feeling though, a friend loved his, so you never know. I bought mine because he raved about it.

In the right guitar, the Hipshot Tremsetter can work wonders, if setup correctly. Conversely, if used in a Strat with a vintage style trem bridge, there is little, if any, advantage gained.
The Tremsetter comes into it's own when used with two point pivot bridges setup to float. Unlike vintage style bridges, that really can only be set to dive, the modern two point bridges can be set to float for dives and pull-ups. It has been my experience that while it does change the feel; stability, sustain, and tone are the benefit.

I've used a few and never liked them. They never did what I actually wanted.... trying to turn a fender trem into a floyd rose and keeping it in tune better.

... and I have no interest in playing like that on a strat anyway. For those times, I have a good "metal" guitar for that.
