Actually my AmDlx has three of the saddle height adjustment screws stripped.

Where can I locate new ones?
They seem to have stripped very easily, is this typical?
Am I better opff replacing with something else?

Many Fender dealers have these screws. The only problem is, if you buy on line, you'll get lambasted with the shipping charges. The part number is: 0994927000 and they are sold in sets of 12.

I found they could strip easily if you're not extremely careful.

As to using something else, I wouldn't bother.

Just keep the threads clean and lubricated and keep gunk from collecting in the allen screw hole.

Good luck!

Why not change the bridge saddles to Graph-Techs? I did that to both of my guitars and not only do they stay in tune better but they also add a little more to the tone of the guitar.

I have heard miked reviews of them. Tone is subjective, so how did they effect the tone?

Bruno,
I've seen this happen before if you do alot of height adjustment. If you have more than one wind around your string post on the locking tuners unlock it and detune your string before you adjust your saddle height. This takes the tension off the saddle and keeps you from stripping those screws so easily. I know its a pain but you'll have to retune anyway...

Thanks tdan...now you tell me. That is exactly what I didn't do. This guitar has had quite a few different gauges on it too from .09 to .11 down to .10 and now back to .11.

I'm unsure if they will fit the AmDLX. Have you tried taking your guitar into the shop, is there a shop you can take it to? They would know more about the specifics of that bridge than I would (please make sure they are a Licensed Fender repair shop). Let us know how you fair.

Thanks RK, but paying someone to replace a couple of screws seems crazy to me.

I agree, I wouldn't do that either. I was just thinking that they may be able to answer the question. Could probably just make a phone call for that though. We'll see if someone else knows if those screws will fit the new tremelo's.

Hope it works for you. If those I showed you aren't the right ones, I am sure that the shop can will either have the right ones to fit or be able to order the right ones for you to put on. Good luck.

Mine uses the 0.05 mm. I do not know why but it fits. Everything else on my guitar is SAE not Metric. I had to go to an automotive shop to get a set with one in it. The kit that came with my guitar did not have the right size allen wrench. I had to ask around before I finally found my answer. My suggestion would be to buy a set with the 0.05 mm, see if it works. If it does not, return the wrenches. Good luck.
