If you are like me, you can't get enough of David Gilmour. I ran across an interesting article in Guitar Player magazine. Here is a sample:

(GP)"You are generally thought of as a “Strat guy,” but you play quite a few different guitars—even in the live show. Can you describe a few of your favorites, and what it is about those particular instruments that you like?"

(DG)"The Stratocaster obviously has to take first place. That was the guitar I always wanted when I was a kid"

You can read the rest of the article here -->http://www.guitarplayer.com/article/david-gilmour-delicate/jan-09/92015

am i reading this right.. he used a Les Paul Goldtop with p90's on the ABINW P2 solo????

"Does it have Les Paul’s original trapeze bridge or a stop tailpiece?
It has a stop tailpiece. For the last album, I wanted one with a Bigsby vibrato, but I didn’t want to change the old one I’d used to play, for example, the solo on “Another Brick In the Wall Part 2,” so I found another one. I suppose you could say that they are a little raunchier than Fenders."

wow.. that certainly sounds like his Black Strat n that solo to me but...

Yeah he used a les paul. Actually if you type david gilmour in some of the music product sites like musiciansfriend.com, you'll find his signature strings for both his black strat and goldtop les paul.

There is also a great article in the U.K. Mag. Guitar this month (Jan.) on Gilmour.
