Hello,

I have a MIA HSS strat with an OFR that I'd like to transform in HH. The pickguard is an eleven hole and the humbucker hole is contoured. I'd like to have contoured holes for both hummies.

There was a black pearl model that has contoured holes, but a few days ago it was taken out from the website. Does anyone have the reference so it would be easier to explain to the shop? Other pickguard references that fit the bill are welcome! ;)

There's no model with an OFR bridge contour. So I'd have to saw and file the black pearl one to make it fit. Does anyone have first hand experience and advices about this? I wouldn't want to screw it up.

Thanks for your help.

From the serial it's a 92, but I think I bought it (new) in 93.
Yeah it's a MIA and I believe it was designed for overseas markets, but you could see it the in a Frontline issue with the lead guitar of Armored Saint, a heavy metal band.

You can buy a blank pickguard from many sources, I bought two of those from allparts a while ago and made my own pickguard holes ...... nice guitar by the way :)

(Thanks for her.)
Well as I would have to cut the bridge contour anyway, it sounds like a logical decision. Even if I didn't think about it first (doh!) as I don't have the tools nor the ability. I'm wondering now if I could get a decent result with my less than absent experience.

Three options now
- HH fat strat pickguard
- HH contoured pickguard
- blank (strat) pickguard (I'll have to find a canadian not to say Quebec source)

They all involve some cutting and filing...
Why isn't Fender offering an HH Floyd bridge pickguard: that would match up with my lack of skills.
