Any thoughts on a neck called Allparts. Authorized by Fender I think.

Hello Bradymoore,

I really don't get off on bashing,
but in this case.
Allparts=Alltrash
Pickguard didn't fit when I called
they tried to get me to believe it
was my fault that their quality was crap.
So something like a neck I would never buy
unless you just want it to stir a caldron.

Oh well just my thoughts.

Cheers.

Hi Brady

My part of the world Allparts has a kinda messy, hard to use website, so I have tended not to buy from them.

At a comparable price point I have had a couple of necks from WD Music and found the quality fine, though the specs are not identical to Fender as regards details such as skunk stripes, seperate maple fingerboards and such. But if you are happy with their choice of features my own experience has been good.

Mighty Mite are often disregarded because they are so inexpensive, but actually my own very limited experience has been good with them too.

Do a bit of Googling. Depending where we are in the world there's a few more options as well...

Good luck - C

That's interesting. I've just been working with an Allparts pickguard supplied by a pickup manufacturer and I had to do a bit of shaping work on it around the neck heel.

The evidence accumulates...

I've just ordered some machine heads from them for the Warmoth neck I have coming - I hope this is simple enough for them to complete! Fingers crossed!

I have to say, although the neck hasn't arrived yet, the Warmoth site has filled me with the most confidence. They have loads of necks already made up and you can see images of all of them (something I find disconcerting on Allparts that you can't). Plus if you have the patience or they don't already have one to your specs, they can pretty much make any combination of woods work by the looks of it! I think its important when you're buying something as important as a neck unseen that you buy from somewhere you trust, so do as much research as possible before taking the plunge.
I will feedback the quality of the neck when it has arrived and is fitted.

Good luck!

E
