I remember seeing from the Fender custom shop site that they were distributing an all-rosewood tele. Just went back there to find the link for it, and I guess they quit the production of them. What a shame. :?

Its not extinct ... its only endangered and under international protection via the CITES treaty. You still can find pieces before the ban sold here and there, but many luthiers wont use them for acoustic guitars because they are either not up to quality or prohibitively expensive.

I'm a rosewood fan ... on my acoustics .. but on a solid body, I'd bet its quite heavy. On acoustics they are noticeably heavier than Mahogany even though these are only sheets of wood.

Looks awesome though.

Heavy you bet,
I have played solid rosewood teles,
and they were pretty heavy.
Here was fender Rosewood telecaster,
for sale $6000 and you could take it home.

I would like a rosewood body but a hollow rosewood so it isnt as heavy ...... but I guess that would ve even more expensive huh :)
