D'Addarios now.

I used to like GHS Nickel Rockers but you can't find them here anymore.

thanks for the help and warm welcoming :)
I'll probably try Super Slinkies first since I've used them on my other guitars, then start trying different strings to see what I like better.

I haven't used Fender strings since the mid 70's. I used to love Dean Markley Light and Heavy high output strings. Serious tone. It's a shame they stopped making them.

I was using bullets for a while, but they started breaking real easy. I don't mean to rag on Fender, but those strings are cheaply made. I use super slinkys now. Probably the best I've used since...well...I started playing.

I've used Fender, Ernie Ball, GHS..... I probably like Ernie Ball the best. The great thing is strings are cheap for the most part. Buy a few different brands and try them yourself..... play the ones you like the best.

Everyone has a favorite... mine might not be yours. Ya' know?

PS.... I'm jealous about your new guitar!!

I don't know if it's just me but I've been using D'addarios for as long as I can remember, they just would not break (I used to play in a System of a down tribute band) and they stayed in tune almost immediately after I put them on... however I'm thinking about trying something else because I noticed a slight drop in quality these days.... maybe it's just me but I have a feeling something has changed in the fabrication process in the last year or so.... did anybody else notice that?

The D'Addario's sound good in my ESP but not in my Strat. Got me on that one.

I use GHS boomers custom lights and they're great. If you're really big on guitar tone I would totally recommend the boomers. Imo I think the Ernie Balls have the advantage of playability while the Boomers have the advantage of tone and longevity.

I really like the Fender Pure Nickel Wound 3150M bullets.

Just sound right on my Strat. I get that total 'Fender Sound' Strat with the nickel strings through the Deluxe Reverb. Its mid 70's picked up at a garage sale for $45 best deal ever. The tubes were shot, so i think the seller thought the amp was done.
