Did you name your guitar/guitars, as BB named his Lucile?

If you were to name your guitar, would it have to be a female name, like ships and airplanes are named after? BF

Well, I want to hold my guitar each time I walk by it and it's hard to put it down when I'm holding it, so it had to be a woman's name.... and because "she's" black and has a lot of character, I called her Lola!

Eileen. She's a surf guitar, see, so she's named after a wahine that I know and my wife doesn't.

I call my Strat "The Ace of Spades," it just seems to fit for everything I play. There's also a sticker of a spade on the neck plate.

I also call my 1961 Gibson Melody Maker "Ol' Screamer" because of the crazy feedback she gets distorted/high-gain.

I have only three electrics and they are named "My Strat, my Tele and my Squier". Not a lot of inspiration here.

My two oldest Strats have names . . . sort of . . .

My '86 Strat is "Black No. 1" I guess because it's black and it was my first Strat. I have a '94 Chrome Red MIM Strat I call "Rojo", the Spanish word for red.

The others have no names at all.

I named my Strat "Trish" as I promised my friend Trish I would name my first Red and Black Guitar after her and my Strat so happened to be Red and Black! I'm getting a Sunburst Classic Player's 60's Strat next and naming it "Fi" after my girlfriends nickname! Lol.

We have a deadly foodstuff in my part of the world called "clotted cream". it is vastly thicker than heavy/double cream, which is water by comparison. A total festival of cholesterol.

So due to the color of its plastic parts this much modded guitar is called "the clotted cream Strat":

Hey Jag-Stang, thats a cool name for your guitar hehe...happens to be my wifes name LOL. I actually have a song called "Trisha's Song"

I have an interesting story. The only guitar I've named in my collection is my red American Standard. It has 2 nicknames but I normally refer to it as "PYRO" because of it's fire red color & the red pearloid pickguard. You can see picks of it and hear it sing at www.soultostrings.com

I also refer to this guitar as "the suicide guitar" because I was able to get a pretty good deal on it due to an accident at the guitar store. I never like when stores place guitars on the wall because the devices that hold them are a bit unstable. This guitar fell off the wall one night when the store was closed. They had it reviewed & overlooked but didn't find any issues, so Fenders are built like tanks I'd say. Anyways, thats my story & name on guitars!
