WOW four 07 Hwy1's a and a couple of 08 Amer. Standard Strats and a Custom Shop  you got post pics of them thats a heck of a collection. We all like to see guitar collection's like that :!:

sorry my friend no can do.
i do not post pictures of my family/myself/music gear/personal info

i have been playing guitar since the age of 15 (1977) styles are heavy
blues/classis rock and some jazz. main influences are edward van halen/jimi hendrix/david gilmore/robin trower/eric clapton - the cream years not clapton today. i have strats originals dating back to the years 1966/70/73/89/2000/2007/2008. gear- 4 dunlop cry baby wahs/ 2 vox wahs/ 1 jimi hendrix signature wah/ 1 eddie van halen signature wah.

oh and lets not forget the little jem that i piked up a while a go
2006 MIM standard strat that has been worked. sweet strat.

Thats cool.
So you have well over a dozen Strats alone going back to 66' And Customshop Strats and you think that your four 2007 HWY1's are the the best  I think if I would have paid for Custom Shop Strats they better be nicer then Highwayones or I would not have kept them. So what condition is that early CBS in and what color?

mr. cvilleria heres everything in a nutt shell. the american std
has a few more bells and whistles than the highway one.
to most players including my self thoes bells and whistles
mean noting. i'm about tone versatility and sustain thats what
the highway one has and much more. if you dont think they are
great guitar thats your opion and thats all it is. i prefer the highway one
over the new american std and i'm not alone on this one. nothing will change my mind.

take care my friend

Not trying to change your mind please dont think that. I am trying to learn something you can never no to much. What is it you think makes the HWY1's so much better? I no you like there necks what is that make them that much better? And what is you think they are doing to get that tone electronics wise? 30+ years of repairs mods and builds that I have maybe you can still teach this old dog something for future reference. I could use that info to help down the road.

I have the exact same STRAT, and it is my favorite STRAT that I have ever owned, and I have owned alot of STRATS over the years.

Oops, mine has a bridge humbucker. That is the only difference.

I think that everyone is forgeting about the GREASEBUCKET wiring and the reverse wiring polarity in the center pickup. I think the GREASEBUCKET wiring and the the thin finish lets my FENDER HIGHWAY ONE get a better tone and versatility than other guitars. I know that I can go from playing HENDRIX or AC/DC to playing that CLAPTON SLOWHAND "CRYING" sound as easy as just flipping from humbucker to single coil on the guitar.

I came close to getting the HSS configuration. But the playability and feel of this guitar was better. I figured in the future if I want that Atomic Humbucker in it, I'll order one. For right now I am putting on new locking tuners on mine. IF that mod goes well, maybe a humbucker will be in my near future. But for right now, I still lilke the tones I am getting out of this one. I hope ypu contunue to enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

Not intending to do that just don't see many 66' Strats and the color ones bring premo value and that is the second year of the smaller body cut and head stock that came about from CBS and I must say a the Foam or Surf Green that were options then were pretty nice old school car colors. That is why I was asking. I would not try to make you out to be anything and I have no problem with you thinking the Hwy1 is better then Custom shops that what s great we all can have our own thoughts. As you have most likely guessed I also like the Hwy1 but I do not think it is better then the Amer Std. or the Amer. Dlx .but I am not saying its a bad guitar. Heck the best guitar in my house right now is not even a Fender and thats my sons Gibson I bought for him and his friend has a PRS Custom 24 down in our club room as well that I would love to own. Well you can guess I like good guitars no matter who makes them I work on them all for extra money and even do some acoustic body repair which is much more challenge then any electric as you now. Well to make this a short version I will never flat defend any one guitar over all others because I no that there will always be some better out there that I dont own and never will.

cv never said the highway one was a better strat
over a custom shop strat. what i did say is
most people think that just beause a strat says custom shop
or made in the usa is a better guitar. and i say no thats not true
at all. for example the fender lite ash strat with the duncan
alnico pro ll's pu this strat is crafted in korea and sells for $630.
now the MIA ash strat sells for $1,200 i have played both and i have
found the crafted in korea strat to be just as good as the MIA strat
when it comes to tone/playability/feel. also the korea strat is cut
from the sames machines the MIA's are the craftman ship on this strat
is fantastic. and yes i bought one. same goes with the MIM strats crafted from 2006 to present.
now back to the highway one. i have and i always will take the highway one over the new american stadards just because the american std has a few more bells and whisles doesnt make it better and beleve me its not.
.

I keep hearing these Highway One guitars are going to wear easily. I have a 2002 Strat with one scrape and a 2004 with one small ding. The finish shows no wear at all. The '02 Strat is my main guitar, too.
