I keep hearing that the HO's look reliced after a year or two. I'm not really going for the beat up look but I'm not agianst the reliced look either.

So if you post some pics of your HO that would be great. Just want to see what one looks like after a few years.

I have the exact same STRAT, and it is my favorite STRAT that I have ever owned, and I have owned alot of STRATS over the years.

Thats cool.
So you have well over a dozen Strats alone going back to 66' And Customshop Strats and you think that your four 2007 HWY1's are the the best  I think if I would have paid for Custom Shop Strats they better be nicer then Highwayones or I would not have kept them. So what condition is that early CBS in and what color?

what do you mean as far as best? if mean that my highway ones
as far as tone/feel/playability yes i compare them to my 1970 strat.
people think just because it says custom or made in the usa it's better
no sir thats not true i have been playing guitar long enough to know this.
my highway one strats 2007's are in my opinon and the opinions
of manny others on other sites to have better tone versatility/sustain/feel.
thats what i'm saying. also keep in mind i have a 2008 american standard
its a fine strat it just doesnt give me what i want in tone. my highway ones
are one of the few guitars period that i dont have to change guitar to get that certain tone for the style of playing i'm playing at that time.
and no you can not do that with the new american standards.

mr. cvilleria heres everything in a nutt shell. the american std
has a few more bells and whistles than the highway one.
to most players including my self thoes bells and whistles
mean noting. i'm about tone versatility and sustain thats what
the highway one has and much more. if you dont think they are
great guitar thats your opion and thats all it is. i prefer the highway one
over the new american std and i'm not alone on this one. nothing will change my mind.

take care my friend

+1 I agree with this. The Highway One is a good, basic Stratocaster that can do the job.

What is it you think makes the HWY1's so much better? I no you like there necks what is that make them that much better? And what is you think they are doing to get that tone elecronics wise? 30+ years of repairs mods and builds that I have maybe you can still teach this old dog something for future reference. Oddly I have never heard anyone say anywhere that a HWY is a better guitar then any Custom Shop Strat. If I am paying 3000.00 or more for a Custom Shop Made strat it better be made better and sound better then a Highwayone or I would return it in a minute
