Hi,I am new here.I have a chance to buy an anniversary stratocaster(1994) that has a body made of aluminium and it is painted something between blue and purple. The guy lives in a different town so I didnt here the sound. Is this a custom shop guitar? What should be its value cca?I wonder about the sound-is it thin or something else?Do you have any experience with these aluminium stratocasters?
Thanks
Roberto

Roberto,
Very collectable guitar...the 40th anniversary logo is desirable. The Aluminum body does change the tone of the guitar. However it is a chambered body so it does resonate. Check Vintage Guitar Guide or other publication for values...Good luck take pictures... We love pictures...Welcome :D

Thanks tdannb2003 for Your quick replay.I still wonder if that kind of stratocaster has the quack in 2nd and 4th pickup positions and the hollowness of the neck pickup.

Thanks one more time tdanb2003.
These are the only two links I already found about alumunium stratocasters.I realise that the purple aluminium stratocasters are not custom shop product like the others.I tried to find some posts on www.youtube.com but without any result. It seems I have to take this journey and see and hear that guitar by myself.I let you know what I found in the next ten days.
