Hi,I bought this strat in 1980, I believe it is from the international colour series,in arctic white.Theres not a great deal on the net about them, but I was surprised to see one on ebay recently go for US $2,875.00
(approximately £1,966.62) and another that did not sell on 'buy it now' for $4.750.00 .
The CBS era was much critized from a quality point of view, even though I have no issue with mine other than it weighs 10lbs .
My question is, are these strats becoming ,vintage and collectable,or is there just a few sellers on ebay getting lucky.
A few pics,sorry poor quality,3mp camera phone.

My 1974 is getting more attention all the time just because it's getting older. I think eventually, the Fenders from the 70's will reach "vintage" status. Lots of the complaints were just guitarists bitching about change. That old 74 was my main axe from 82 to 1990 and it never let me down.

I still have my 72 and it's a great sounding/playing guitar. No problems at all.

I hope I live long enough to see my Strats go vintage.

I have a 79 and it's my best guitar. Also 10lbs. They are going up in price.

International Colors were Strats designed with special colors for exportation only. I think :)

The international serial numbers area whole different animal. They were American made guitars that were meant for foreign markets.

The international colours were just the funky names of the finish options. Sorta like you don't have to travel to in order to drink international coffees.
