Hi,
I'm having a bit of a problem, which I couldn't solve by searching the forum or google...

I have bought a new 2008 American Standard, MN OW Lefty.
And the Volume pot behaves exactly like a Tone pot would.
First Tone pot controls tone for middle PU
Second Tone (the one next to the Volume) controls tone for neck PU
Volume controls tone for ALL PU's (without changing the volume at all)

So my question is, what exactly is wrong here? Did Fender make a mistake in the wiring? How would the wiring be in my case, and how should it be? (I have experience with soldering and electric wiring, but don't know much about it in the audio/guitar sector)

Hi Ferdl101, welcome to the Forum.

Clearly a spot of miswiring under the hood. If it is a new guitar and you don't want to mess with soldering irons yourself then take it straight back to the shop - or any authorised Fender dealer - within a year of purchase and get it put right for free under warranty.

A lot of consumer rights battles over the decades have gone into winning you that privilege!

Cheers - C
