Long story short, I have been on Medical disibility with 4 herniated disks in my back and nerve damage in my spinal cord since June and my Short term pay was stopped in August. i just got word today that my Long Tern Disibility has been approved so I will be retropaid from August and will be back on my feet again, financially soon, which will enable me to continue some project that were on hold, due to obvous financial reasons.

Ok, I need some opinions guys. I am stuck on what to do. I have the MIM Electron Blue body, it is Ash wood and I am really wanting to change it around. I do my own painting. I am keeping with the EMG pickups, but am tired of the color. I am going with a Maple Warmoth neck with Abalone Cross Markers. I have seen some really outstanding guitars on here and was thinking someone could give me some ideas that may pop out at me for the color/pickguard, or a custom paintjob idea, althogh I havent seen many good graphics with pickguards without painting the guard, and that requires different paint and its a real pain. Any ideas are welcome. Get creative, I may do your idea, I cant offer a prize, this isnt a contest, but I can do some crazy paint stuff on guitars, although its been a while. I am gonna start this around Feb. cause I am gonna be starting Treatment for my back next week and will be limited to mobility and movement for a few weeks.

Hope your treatment goes alright! Hopefully you'll be up and running again soon. :D

And a good finish...uh...black is always in style...unless you really wanna change things up, then something like some of the finishes from the Jackson guitar line are cool too. :)

Maybe you could do some dark voodoo kind of thing 8) I think i'd be pretty cool. If you're handy with a paintbrush you could paint skulls and funky masks and stuff!

Hi FarmerMan - If you're good with an airbrush you could do some pretty funky blending stuff, and you could have a clear acrylic pickguard made so everyone can appreciate your artwork - whatever it is.
Hey, why don't you sketch a vertebral column following the top curve of your Strat - I know, weird idea, but it would look pretty cool.
(this coming from a guy with slipped and torn discs - I appreciate the pain)
Cheers.....

I saw a picture of a Montego Black Strat, Bronze or Gold Pickguard and Gold Hardware that really looked sweet. I was thinking about something along the lines of that, but with a theme to it, The Saints are black and Gold, and If I did it, I'd have to put it on ebay or something, but would it be worth the money invested to do a "novelty" guitar? Maybe Black and Orange Harley Theme....That may look good.

I saw on another thread a paint job that was cool. It was white with multi-colored paint splatters on it and spun into streaks. You could do something like that.

Ive been there, they do have very good products, especially for finishing. But I am going to be using my compressor and auto paint, so my color palate is pretty unlimited.

Are you going for a solid color? Would you consider stripes?

Dude, thanks for the link to that site. Being a painter, I do look for different paint options. I am moving twords my compresson, but started out with cans. These look like some colors I can for sure use. I was just saying to someone on this thread about a Montego Black Gold Pickguard, but custom orange Harley Grafix, and the color on this site looks like it may work perfect. Thanks again for the heads up. I cant wait to get started and post the pics as it progresses.

Being a painter then you no that poly can be a nightmare to get off if you have problems with that use Kleen Strip Aircraft Paint remover just dont get it on anything plastic because it will ruin it and that stuff removes epoxies and all. Just be easy with it.
