I don't know which delay pedal would be better. What do you think?

I like Pink Floyd and U2 and they use delay constantly. I'm just looking for the most authentic tone within a decent price range. I don't want digital delay, I prefer analog.

Hi, Just some thoughts on delay.... Analog delay is great however it will give you really short time delay for example that MRX analog delay only goes as far as 600 mili seconds of delay which is not bad but is really short depending on what you like... also analog delay will loose high frequencies every time the delay is repeated.. therefore every delay will not sound as the original sound coming from the guitar... I prefer digital delay because it is more diverse.. it has a really long range of delay time, it will copy the sound and reproduce it exactly as the source guitar sound and if you want to make it sound like analog delay you can do that too ..... and by the way the hardwire delay you are looking at is digital .... :)

Synkronized is right, I love the Carbon Copy I told you about but I too have a modded Boss DD-3 Delay that I use for longer type delays. I use it in conjuction with my modded MXR Phase 90 to get a cool trippy Floyd lead tone.

I was wondering whether that was digital or not. Thanks for clearing that up for me. :D

Man, that's a tough one. The MXR Carbon Copy is an excellent pedal. For what it does, I'd say it's one of the very best analog delays out there right now, especially at that price point. Normally I'd say go with the analog pedal. However, digital delay pedals really do sound great and they are so much more versatile than analog delay pedals. Like another poster said, digital delays have much longer delay times and usually have multiple delay types, including analog delay(my DL-4 even has analog delay with modulation). Also, the Hardwire pedal has a looper, which I really enjoy using to practice with. I play a riff, loop it, then solo over it. It really comes in handy if the song you are working on has some odd chords that you are soloing over and you are trying out some wierd modes or something. If you could fork out $250, I recommend the Line 6 DL-4. The Hardwire looks like great choice too though. Hope this helps!

im not sure about those specific pedals, but as a rule, i think MXR pedals are superior to Digitech, and I own mostly didgitechs.
