I came across a Stratocaster while surfing the web the other day.
Its a "Big Block" Strat.
I fell in love with this guitar at first sight
If anybody has any information on this guitar or any ideas on where or if i can get my hands on one. that would be greatly appreciated

Also has fender created any other "big block" guitars? a telecaster maybe?

Thanks,

im guessing nobody knows... or nobody likes me.

either way... i've heard rumors that only 45 were ever made....
i dunno if this is true.. but i hope not cause getting my hands on one would prove difficult.

Are they called big blocks only because of the big blocks on the fretboard? or they also have some other special feature? :)

I know there's such thing as a Big Block P-bass that is in production now. Don't know much else though. What a pity, they're very nice looking instruments. :)

?yeah i'm pretty sure the only special thing about the Big Block is the block fret dots.. but the thing has a chrome pickguard and the knobs look more like the metal ones on a telecaster.. all in chrome.

But im more looking to get my hands on a neck... even though the whole guitar would be nice.

Anybody know if fender has made any other guitar necks with a "big block" fret markers?

Big Block Tele had 3 single coils and 5-way switch. Big Block Strat was HSS. May be other versions, but I think these were the norm. Also heard of a Big Block bass - don't know about that.

The "Big Block" referred to the neck inlays, I think the neck was bound too that's the only difference. If I could find one for the right price, I'd definately buy it.
