Hello everyone, I was hoping someone had some info that could help me.

I just bought a used 02 Strat deluxe that was made in mexico with my Xmas money. I can't really seem to find too much info on this guitar on the internet tho....I am happy with it, but as I only have been playing a year(on a borrowed les paul) this is my first real guitar and I want to know as much about it as I can.

Do you guys know what kind of pickups are in this thing? There isn't a mark on it, not even on the pickguard, so I am assuming they are the originals still, but they don't say noiseless on them.

The guitar has gold hardware with a tortise pickguard and vintage tuners.....Does this year of the mex guitars have a reputation? is it good or bad? Thanks for any help anyone can give.......I know the real answer is "Do I like it?" and I do, its much easier to play than that big ol LP neck.

I believe the deluxes come with vintage noiseless pickups but since you bought a used guitar the pickups could have been swapped out. Can you hear any noise when you play?

No, not much. more if its turned up a lot, but I'm usually playing at a level that won't wake the kids, so, at that level no I don't.

Those are what I thought they would be too, but someone told me those have the word "noiseless" in gold script written across them and these don't.

I think the Hot and Vintage Noiseless say Noiseless at the bottom but the Samarium Cobalt Noiseless dont have anything on the pickup covers. Of course anyone could have replaced the covers.

That does not seem to be a deluxe bridge, looks like a vintage bridge. What do you guys think? As far as the pickups, if you really want to look deeper into it you would have to take off the strings, remove the pickguard and look at the back of them for any kind of marking. Post a picture of the back of pickups here and someone should be able to help.

That looks like it's got the same button and bridge as my Deluxe players strat with vintage noiseless pups. Also, mine has the same type of Vintage bridge...

Cool, well, I do need to replace the strings still anyway, so I'll take some pics. Does it hurt a strat to take all of the strings off at once?

It won't hurt it, but it's not something you want to make a habit of either. :)

It's a Mexican Deluxe Players Strat they are supposed to have a Vintage style bridge and the Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups do have markings on them they say SCN......

Its a deluxe players strat, it'll have vintage noiseless. You may have to hold it at an angle to see the writing. On my Am Dlx, it was hard to see thr SCN marking, its just raised writing, so white on white is hard to see.

Well, changed the strings and cleaned this thing all up last night, and took the pickguard off to take a peek underneath while I was at it. I still don't know WTF these are for sure. Here's the pic---

the only writing I could find on them inside was a #, 016/30 whatever that means.

oh, and it doesn't say" players " on it anywhere, just deluxe. I don't think they were calling them players strats in 2002--

It probably wouldnt say players. Does it have the button to turn on the bridge pickup?? I never owned one of those, but I loved the feature so much, i put one into my strat. If it doesnt have any noise, its most likely Vintage Noiseless. I see you have shielding under the pickguard, that may cover up noise.. hold it up to flouresent lights, or near your speaker (not too close though because too close and you'll get noise no matter what you have). Thye may have just put regular standard strat pickups in a 2002. Im sure somewhere on the internet, there's an answer to your question on what pickups they use.
