I'll take "Incesticide" any day of the week.[/quote]
And that says it all.

The OP mentioned his guitar not his talent or lack of it or his addictions.

The Mustang was nothing more than a "student model" guitar vintage or not. They were pretty much barely okay guitars.

"My homework??? Oh, please. Dude, I lived in Seattle in the early '90s. I lived through the history of grunge."

We are sorry you had to go through all that. But it isn't anyone's fault. It just happened. Dude.

I might be wrong, Homer Simpson may be the True Godfather of Grunge!
Makes more sense to me.

Don't be so down on Seattle. It is a great city that does a lot to support local musicians (all kinds of local musicians). Even though a lot of people in this forum clearly do not get grunge (and that is okay ... really), it does not diminish the amazing and thriving music scene at that time. The music changed in a split second from White Lion and Warrant to Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and Nirvana -- with Seattle being the perverbial ground zero. Whether you like grunge or not, there should be at least some appreciation for a music scene capable of that kind of change.

I've been to Seattle twice. Nice city. Hendrix was from Seattle. It's not the music scene, or Seattle, it's the arrogant attitude of 01GT eibach that started a lot of it calling people ignorant etc. I've been involved in most types of music since 1964 and even made a decent living at it during the 70's through the late 80's mostly doing studio and club work. I don't really like grunge. That's my opinion. I don't call people crap like ignorant, dumb and the best one that I got a chuckle from was a rock because they criticize music I like. Nirvana was a commercial success. Like it or not, you still hear their music on pop stations. Even Weird Al Yankovic pulled off a decent version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit". (with better lyrics)

The only thing grunge did was thankfully kill off big hair and spandex Speed Metal bands and especially the ballads they had.

I still wouldn't pay $100 for a Mustang of any year in any condition regardless of who played it. I'll just sit back now and wait for 01GT eibach to get his panties all in a knot and start calling me names again.
Time to move on.

Sir, what "name" or insult have I ever called you?
All I did was point out that a previous statement that "Neil Young contributed more to grunge than Kurt Cobain" was vastly incorrect. Which it was.

If you have perceived any insult from me, then I apologize to you. Sincerely. Because here in the Fender forums, I am more keen on learning from the vast guitar wisdom here and sharing the love. But, as for you (considering your last post), seeking "anger management" in the yellow pages is seemingly a viable option for you...

Why not auction his vintage Jaguars or his modified humbucking strats? They could've at least be a bit better for an auction.

I honestly don't get the whole smashing guitar thing. I understand why artists do it, but the logistics of it are unprecedent. If they're going to break it then they might as well give it someone. Maybe instead of breaking it on stage they can just throw it out into the audience. Free guitar. 8)
