Some might have read the post last week that I bought a guitar to replace my American Deluxe that was stolen a couple months ago. I didnt have the funds to get another Am Dlx. So after allot of disappointing test runs with some MIM standards, I started to look used. I found this weird Mexican reissue strat that has a 50's body, and 60's neck. After finding my luthier did all the setup, and upgraded the pickups, I was pretty confident that it was a good axe, plus it felt much better than any other mexican I played, pretty close to an American. I did some research today, and found I got the deal of the century. I paid $300 for it, which included a Fender hardshell case. It turns out this guitar is called a FSR AIMM 5760 strat. It was only made for a couple independant music shops. The store that carried it told me they still had 1 new one, and 1 used one there. The new one is $750, and the used one is $600, and Fender only made 250 of them, and they only come with a gig bag. So seeing I spent half of what the store is selling their used one, and I got a hardshell case. I couldnt be happier. I think this was the 1 good deal I found online at either Craigslist or Ebay.

Believe me, neither am I. Like I said, the only reason I bought this is because some dirtbag broke into my apartment and stole my 2 month old American Dlx. Id rather have that.

I know that feeling, but Karma will take care of the dirt bag and you already have benefited! Happy for you! What goes around comes around.

I didn't think those "5760" strats were made in Mexico. I guess they were, based on those prices.

Those guitars were a reissue with mix of 1957-era styling and 1960-era styling, hence the name.
