For those of you that use heavy picks - If you haven't tried these yet. Try the Jim Duncan Jazz III's. It's a small pick and has made a real difference in my accuracy, both in lead and rhythm playing. Highly recommend giving them a try.

Dunlop Big Stubby 3mm, mosty. Those go way past the "heavy" picks. Great for pinch harmonics, sounds good and gives a little warmer tone than thinner picks.

Dunlop Tortex Sharkfins, green, .88mm and Dunlop Derlin, pink .96mm, with the "knife" edge. The Sharkfins while a little strange, allow a wide variety of picking and harmonic textures.

Does anybody remember the real Tortoise Shell picks? Oh and real Tortoise Shell Pickguards? Gibson has a Guitar with a wood pickguard, probably helps the tone until it hits all that glue and stuff. My EJ has a Single Ply, Parchment, which is a wood by-product along with the Nitrocellulose lacquer which along with the tight neck joint is the key to the sweet tone.

I remember the REAL tortoise shell picks...I have some. In fact I still have the original Fender plastic case with one unused pick in the package. Came as a pack of three. One I use and have for years, one is still in tha package, and the third I gave to my worship leader a couple months ago. Talk about tone !!!

Thick picks annoy me. I go thin all the way.

Anyone use those 'surfpicks' made from lignum vitae?
I hear they're supposed to be really good.
