It's a fairly new guitar and a few of us have yet to have a chance to own one. Judging from the specs, I think it looks fine and comes with a nice tweed case.

Hi morrison31971, welcome to the Forum.

I haven't played it but there was a review in Guitarist magazine a few issues ago. I don't have my backcopies to hand, I'm afraid, but I seem to recall they were surprisingly impressed with it, and felt it was for a lot more than just fans of Mr Corgan. Words such as "versatile" were used, I believe.

Tell us how you find it if you get one, why not?

Cheers - C

I'd like to try one.

At first I thought it was just going to be an American Sandard Strat with a neat graffic. But when I checked out the specs, it has a couple very unique features that soun like it would be a good workhorse for Rythm or Lead players.

Three Di MArzio Single-Spaced Humbuckers
Hardtail
Satin Nitrocellulose Finish
22 Frets
And all for $1200

Disclaimer: I've been playing guitar for maybe 3 months now. The only other guitar I've ever played is my Highway One.

Just unboxed my new white Corgan Strat. I grew up on the Pumpkins and they're my favorite band. I'm not a groupie, but from reading other very positive reviews of the guitar, I figured what the heck.

My first impression is that it's pretty lightweight compared to my HW1. Beautiful finish and the Dimarzio pickups really look good against the black board. The neck and bridge pickups sound great, but the middle pickup (to me....very amateur ear at this point) sounds a bit on the high range side.

Cleans are clean, but plugged into a fuzz box and the high gain tone just jumps out. Definitely a higher gain setup than my HW1, which is obviously what it's made for.

At first, I didn't know if this would be a wall flower, "special occasion" guitar, but that's out the window. It's on the stand and ready to play. Really makes me look forward to learning some new Pumpkins riffs.

With all due respect ... you're wrong. Besides formulating a very compelling guitar recipe with Fender, his songwriting and musical "cred' runs miles long.

Hey Man
Just got mine four days ago. I have an 87 american standard strat, and have owned a new american standard as well as a deluxe american. I just gotta say that this has the smoothest fastest neck I have ever played. I love the sound of the guitar. You can still get strat sounds out of it, but it has a lot more output. The hardtail bridge is awsome. I would recomend this to any one.

I havent demo'd this axe yet but I think it may be a candidate to compliment my MIM 72 tele deluxe. A distortion guitar. The regular single coil strats are weak distortion guitars even though I have gotten decent results with distortion pedals. There is no substitute for humbuckers. It depends on what your looking for. If you want it to be a Fender and want it to play heavier distorted music this may be the ticket. If it cleans up ok it may be a winner. The fact that it comes with a tweed case for 1200 bucks makes it a bargain in my eyes. The case alone cost 200 bucks so it's about the same value as a standard strat.
